Elsa Garcia

Elsa Rosa Garcia, age 69, was called to be with our Lord on Monday morning, July 16, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Ms. Garcia was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She was employed by the Laredo Independent School District and worked at Bruni Elementary School in the Child Nutrition Program. In 2007, she retired after 22 years of service.

She was a strong and kind-hearted woman who always had a quiet demeanor. Ms. Garcia enjoyed the outdoors, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones most especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Nana.”

Ms. Garcia was preceded in death by her parents, Desiderio and Beatriz Garcia.

She is survived by her beloved children: Amador (Rosa) Ballesteros, Jr., David (Belinda) Ballesteros, and Jeannette (Richard A.) Acosta; and the father of her children who saw her through her most difficult time, Amador Ballesteros Sr. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren: Amanda Ballesteros, David Ballesteros, Jr., Brian Louis Ballesteros, Faith Isabella Ballesteros, and RJ Acosta; siblings: Maria Ofelia Gallegos, Desiderio O. (Luisa R.) Garcia, and Reynaldo (Evaristo) Cordova; nieces and nephews: Pete (Liliana) Gallegos, Jr., Melissa (Alfonso III) Moreno, Gerardo (Rosie) Gallegos, Clarissa (Javier) Sandoval, Claudette (David ) Gutierrez, Dina(Dominique) Baker, Evaristo Cordova, Jr., Eriberto Cordova, and Migdalia Cordova; as well as by numerous other relatives and friends.

The Family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Dr. Idelfonso Flores, Dr. Eduardo Miranda, Marisela Gonzalez her friend and caregiver, and the nursing staff at Doctors Hospital.

Visitation & Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Christ Miracle Center located on 4400 Sanders Avenue from 4 to 9 pm. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm and officiated by Esther R. Gallegos.
