ELIZABETH TERESA STEED BENAVIDES
December 6, 1964 – December 13, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Teresa Steed Benavides, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She peacefully passed away on December 13, 2024, at the age of 60.
Elizabeth was born on December 6, 1964, in Laredo, Texas, to James Madison Steed and Teresa Steed (who preceded her in death in 2022). She was a proud graduate of United High School, Class of 1982. Elizabeth furthered her education at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she majored in Accounting, a field in which she found great satisfaction and success.
Elizabeth's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children: Anthony Domonic Benavides (35), Brady Alexander Benavides (29), and her daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Benavides (22). Elizabeth is also survived by her former husband and father of her children, Anthony Dominic Benavides. She was a cherished sister to James Joseph Steed, who is married to Yvonne Steed and has two children, Madison James Steed and Emma Marin Steed, as well as a grandson, Cory James Steed. Elizabeth's Puentes family was near and dear to her heart, and they shared a bond that she cherished deeply. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by all who knew her for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
Elizabeth was one of the most selfless people, always putting others before herself. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she treated everyone with warmth and respect. She had an extraordinary outlook on life, always seeing the positive in every situation, and her ability to spread joy and love to everyone around her was truly remarkable.
A viewing will be held on December 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a mass service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. All services will take place at Joe Jackson Funeral Chapel. Following the services, the family will have the burial at the family ranch.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations and gifts be sent directly to the family.
Elizabeth will be remembered for the warmth and love she brought into the lives of all those around her. She will remain forever in our hearts.
