July 31, 1933- May 18, 2022

Elizabeth Lara, passed away peacefully in her home in Laredo, TX on May 18, 2022 at the age of 88. Elizabeth was a lifetime resident of Laredo. She was a strong-willed woman who loved her family with all her might although gambling came in a close 2nd. She was the matriarch who was always the steady rock for her family in good times and bad and will be missed tremendously.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francisco Morado, mother Rosa De La Cruz, her loving husband Trinidad Lara, sons: Trinidad (†Yolanda) Lara, Jr., and Roberto Lara. Also proceeded in death are her brothers and sisters: Alicia (†Fermin) Hernandez, Francisco (Maria) Morado, Arturo (†Juana) Morado, and Rosa (†Ruben) De Leon.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabeth (†Pedro) Martinez, and son Daniel Lara. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Rosario (Miguel) Jimenez, Pedro (Elma) Martinez III, Melissa (Carlos) Godoy, Erika (Jose) Hernandez Martinez, Jose Juan Martinez, Marissa (Anthony) Abila, Roberto Lara, Oscar Lara, Mary Lou (Ramon) Ramirez, Jorge Lara, Francisco (Chris) Lara, Trinidad Lara, and Ricardo (Trinidad) Lara. Also surviving her are numerous great and great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, May 22, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Prayer Service will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning, May 23, 2022 departing at 10 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot at the Laredo City Cemetery.
