EDNA S. RAMIREZ

Mrs. Edna S. Ramirez, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Portland, Texas.

Mrs. Ramirez is a graduate of Raymond and Teresa Martin High School Class of 1953 in Laredo, Texas. After graduating she worked for J.W. Nixon as a Liberian Assistant. Edna was married to Alarico R. Ramirez from Hebbronville, Texas in 1969. They were happily married for 36 years up until his passing in 2005. After getting married Edna resided in Portland, Texas where she was a home maker. She touched the hearts of many and will forever be missed.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alarico R. Ramirez; parents, Francisco Alvarado and Juana "Janie" Alvarado: sibling, Francisco Javier Alvarado

Mrs. Ramirez is survived by her daughter, Alva Rosa Ramirez; her brother, Mario (Delia) Alvarado. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 4 to 9 in the evening at Joe Jackson North Funeral and Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, Texas. 78041. A Vigil and Rosary will be recited at 7 pm.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 504 E. Santa Clara St. in Hebbronville, Texas. The family will gather at 9:45 a.m. There will be no procession from the funeral home; all are asked to meet at the church.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Johnny Guerra, Daniel Muniz Sr., Juan Sandoval, Juan Sandoval Jr., Paul Karabanoff and Rodolfo R. Medellin
