Laredo, Texas and the medical community mourn the loss of a beloved dermatologist, Dr. Robert Donald Hudson, who passed away at the age of 71 on October 31, 2023, with his beloved wife at his side. Dr. Hudson, known for his commitment to the well-being of his patients and his compassionate nature, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dr. Hudson was born on February 13, 1952, in Houston, Texas. After graduating from Spring Branch High School in 1970, he went on to study Biology at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. He made his way to Laredo, Texas, at 29 years old after marrying Josie Cigarroa. His family and his career were at the center of his life, and he was a loving father to his four children: Kacy, Jessica, Robert and Tifini.
Dr. Hudson was a respected dermatologist in the Laredo community and beyond. He dedicated his career to improving the health and well-being of his patients, and his impact was immeasurable. He met every patient with admiration and curiosity, taking his time to listen to them, and provide the best care.
Outside of his profession, Dr. Hudson was deeply involved in several committees, including being the chairman for the Physician Distribution and Health Care Access of the Texas Medical Association. He had a genuine love for Laredo and found great joy in giving back. Whether he was volunteering his time, or simply being a friendly face to everyone he met, Dr. Hudson embodied the spirit of Laredo.
He spent the final years of his life in great happiness with his beloved wife, Alejandra Howland, at his side.
Dr. Hudson's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his selfless service to the Laredo community. As we say our goodbyes, let us also celebrate the remarkable life of a man who made a profound impact on the lives of many.
