Dora G. Silva, 96, passed away Saturday, April 05, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Juan R. Silva; her parents, Manuel H. and Emma Garcia; her sister, Emma Garcia; and brothers, Hector H. Garcia and Enrique (Enriqueta) Garcia. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her children will always fondly remember her as a supportive parent who loved unconditionally and offered encouragement of their individual pursuits. She was an avid gardener and excellent cook. She will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Juan R. (Alma) Silva, Rolando (Rosa) Silva, Sandra Silva and Gustavo (Gabriela) Silva; grandchildren, Michael A. Silva, Monica M. Palizo, Marisa A. Vasquez, Tyffany Silva, Dahlia Silva, Catalina Montoya, Andrew Silva and Christina Silva; twelve great-grandchildren; and sisters, Angelica (Roberto ) Garcia and Ana Maria Knox. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 07, 2014 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. A Rosary and Vigil will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday morning, April 08, 2014.
