DORA “MANA” TIJERINA HICKLE

NOVEMBER 21, 1940 – AUGUST 2, 2020

Dora “Mana” Tijerina Hickle peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 2, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mana as she was dearly known by all, was the eldest daughter of Cayetano “Tito” and Dora Tijerina, and 14 brothers and sisters whom she adored.  She attended La Trinidad United Methodist Church where she was an active member until her illness.  Mana was an avid traveler who loved visiting and exploring new places, but her fondest travels included frequent trips to Queretaro Mexico with her family.  Her favorite memories include time with her grandchildren and their adventures.

She is preceded in death by her adoring husband of 47 years, Kenneth Jack Hickle her father Cayetano “Tito” Tijerina, her mother Dora Perez Tijerina, and her sister Amalia “Maya” Garza.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth Jack Hickle Jr (Stephanie), Karl John Hickle (Rosie), and Caroline Ann Lara ( Juan Manuel). Her grandchildren, Kristopher Jarod Hickle (Whitney), Lindsey Irene Gutierrez (Omar), Keith Nolan Hickle,  Kayla Jan Hickle, Ana Carolina Lara, Juan Manuel Lara II and Joaquín Alejandro Lara, along with 6 great grand children.  Siblings:  Tito (Aminta) Tijerina, Estela (Heriberto +) Avalos, Fernando (Antonio) Tijerina, Raquel (Enrique) Valdez, Isaura (Rafael +) Garcia, Cayetano (Rosalinda) Tijerina III, Carlos (Juanita) Tijerina, Linda (Alberto “Bimbo”) Garcia, Guillermo (Cynthia) Tijerina, Leticia (Robert) Henry, Hector “Tati” (Patricia) Tijerina, Omar (Rosaura “Wawi”) Tijerina, Patricia (Rolando) San Miguel, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to express our most sincere gratitude to Dr. Idelfonso Flores who cared for mom for over 35 years, First Aide Home Health for their prompt and dedicated service to mom, and her caregivers, Consúelo Ruiz Nanez, Rossi Sierra and Gabriela Cruz Hernandez.

Pall bearers: Kenneth Jack Hickle Jr., Juan Manuel Lara, Kristopher Jarod Hickle, Keith Nolan Hickle, Omar Gutierrez, Juan Manuel Lara II and Joaquín Alejandro Lara.

Honorary Pall Bearers: Tito Tijerina, Fernando “Nando”  Tijerina, Cayetano “Tano” Tijerina, Carlos “Chale”Tijerina, Guillermo “Memo”Tijerina, Hector “Tati” Tijerina, Omar Tijerina.

After careful consideration, amidst this current pandemic all funeral services will be private. We thank you for understanding and hope you continue keeping us in your prayers.
