Diana V. Erickson

Diana V. Erickson, 76, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

In the 76 years that Diana Erickson lived, she was so many things to so many people.  She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a great-aunt, a friend, a confidant, and an example.  Diana had a heart of gold, always encouraging others, offering her prayers, and was always willing to be the gentle bridge between a lost soul and the Lord.

Diana was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas.

She attended Ursuline Academy class of ‘66, where she excelled in academics and graduated high school.  She later felt the calling to specialize in education.  She attended and graduated from Texas Woman's University (TWU) in 1970 with a bachelor's in elementary education.

Diana served at Clarence L. Milton Elementary for 30+ years, where she taught and touched endless lives of children, parents, and colleagues.  Diana's love for helping people navigate through life was nothing short of admirable.

Diana went on to meet the love of her life in the late 1970's, Jeffrey C. Erickson.  Diana and Jeff dated for two years and were engaged for one year before being united as one on October 17, 1980. Diana and Jeff were blessed with their precious on February 25, 1985 and Dawn Michelle Erickson was born.

Dawn is an only child, and without a doubt, the absolute pride and joy of her parents.  As educators, Diana and Jeff passed on their drive for education to Dawn.  One of Diana and Jeff’s proudest moments was when their precious graduated from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Diana has left behind so many who love her.  Her earthly presence will be sorely missed.  However, everyone who knew Diana knows that she lives on for eternity at the right side of The Lord and is reunited with her loving husband, Jeff, her brother Jesus Rolando Villarreal, and her parents Jesus and Emma Villarreal.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Dawn Michelle Erickson; brother, Ricardo Villarreal; nephews and nieces, Cynthia (Enrique) Coronado, III., Ricardo (Maribel) Villarreal, Jr., and Cathryn Villarreal.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday morning, November 8, 2023 from 8 to 12 noon at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Prayer Service will commence at 11 a.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday morning, November 8, 2023 departing at 12 noon from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to the Rite of Committal and Interment at the family plot of the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Ricardo Villarreal, Ricardo Villarreal, Jr., Rene Villarreal, Cathryn Villarreal, John Coffey, and Mack David Rodriguez.
