Diana Rivera

On Monday, April 2, 2018, God called his faithful and humble servant, Diana Martha Rivera, 74 into his loving presence. Diana Martha did not have any immediate family left behind, but she undoubtedly has left many long-lasting relationships in the people whom she served.

Diana Martha was a faithful servant of the Lord. She served the parishes of St. Joseph and Divine Mercy in many capacities, such as secretary, Religious Education coordinator, as well as belonging to the Legion of Mary, Grupo de Oracion, Altar Society and was a Third Order Franciscan. She graduated from St. Augustine High School 1965 in downtown Laredo.

She will be forever cherished by her priests, her beloved brothers and sisters in Christ from the parishes she served. She is preceded in death by her parents: Felix and Andrea Rivera and survived by members of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and her closest friends that were with her throughout her last year here on earth.

Diana Martha will lie in state at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary offered by Rev. Deacon Crispin Soto and St. Joseph Church at 7 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow to the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
