Diana Elva Villarreal
August 17, 1938-April 19, 2024
Diana Elva Villarreal, 85, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on April 19, 2024. She was a beloved educator and cherished member of the community. Born on August 17, 1938, in Laredo, Texas, Diana graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1957 before obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Education from Texas Women's University. With a passion for teaching, she dedicated 35 years of her life as an Elementary teacher to shaping the minds of students and making a lasting impact in the field of education.
After Diana and her husband, Humberto were married, they made their home in St. Paul, Minnesota where she spent the majority of her adult life. Diana immersed herself in the local community, always eager to connect with friends and engage in social gatherings. Her warm and welcoming nature endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her presence will be deeply missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Humberto Villarreal, Jr.; parents, Francisco C. and Diamantina Sanchez; siblings, Mirna N. Sanchez, Francisco J. Sanchez, Oscar R. Sanchez, and Tina S. Cruz.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Zelma Sandra (Jorge) Jimenez and brother, Gabriel (Nora) Sanchez. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. The funeral procession will depart the church after mass to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery for the Inurnment at 11:15 a.m.
