Desiree Ercilia Muñiz, 11, earned her wings and was welcomed with open arms into our Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
She was preceded in passing by her aunt, Jessica Marie Iverson; uncles, Jonah Louis Iverson and Benito Rios Jr.; paternal great-grandparents, Brigido H. (Maria Louis) Flores Jr. and maternal great-grandparents, Ricardo (Emilia) Muñiz.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her mother, Sarah Lorrane Muñiz; step-father, Joel Rios; brothers, Hecter Isaac, Joel, and Erik; maternal grandmother, Raquel Iverson Muñiz; maternal grandfather, Juan Muñiz; paternal grandmother, Lucila Rios; and paternal grandfather, Benito Rios. She is also survived by her God-mother, Ana (Miguel) Gomez, God-father, David Muñiz; aunts and uncles, Jennifer (Owen) Lukaszewski, David Rios, and Carlos (Nahira) Rios; cousins, Samantha, Madden, Nathan, Christian, Faith, Jayla, Solange, David Jr., Dylan, Victoria, Kylie, Kendall, Raul, Araceli, and Mia; as well as other family members, Ricardo (Cristina) Muñiz Jr., Maria Magdalena (Jose, Sr.) Veliz, Manuel (Maria) Muñiz, Maria de Lourdes (Francisco Javier) Rodriguez Sr., Daniel Francisco (Clara) Muñiz Sr., Emilia (Daniel) Banda, Maria del Carmen (Michael) Nuñez, Patricia (Tony) Lopez, and Brigido Flores III; as well as numerous cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday evening, February 01, 2022 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning, February 02, 2021 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.
Private Cremation Services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Driscoll Children’s Hospital Oncology Doctors and Staff in addition to the 4th Tower Nurses, San Antonio Methodist Hospital, Nurses on Wheels Hospice, Golden Heart Project, Smiles From Heaven, and countless number of relatives and friends who offered their prayers, love, and support during her time of need.
