Mrs. Delores Jean Ruiz, 83, entered into her eternal rest the evening of Monday, November 7, 2016 at a local hospital while being cared for and surrounded by her children.

Born in Sparta, Wisconsin on June 29, 1933, she was preceded in death by her father Frederick Brenn, mother Arlene Tetrev, step-father Stanley Tetrev, and brother Richard Tetrev.

Mrs. Ruiz is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Edmundo J. Ruiz and is lovingly survived by her children: Edward R. Ruiz and Theresa Jean Ruiz.

Jean Ruiz graduated from the University of Illinois, Cook County School of Nursing, Chicago, Illinois in 1955. She practiced nursing in Laredo since 1962, first at the Laredo Health Department and ultimately finished her career with the Laredo Independent School District as a school nurse. She will be greatly missed.

The family will gather at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 5 to 9 in the evening with a Rosary to be recited at 7.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 9:40 in the morning to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
