David Idrogo

January 2, 1959 — January 21, 2012

David Larry Idrogo met his Creator and he was surrounded by his beloved wife and children on Sunday January 22, 2012.--He was 53 years old at the time of his death.-David was a loving and giving son, brother, husband, and father.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Idrogo, Sr. and his in-laws Pastor Guillermo and his wife, Febe Flores de Aguayo.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Myriam Aguayo Idrogo , and their five sons:-David William, Christopher Lee,-Jonathan Lloyd,-Nathan Elliot,-and Nathaniel Ethan.-He is also survived by his mother Margarita G. Idrogo, his loving sister Margarita Gloria, his brothers Frank (Rosario) and Richard (Susana) and his brother-in-law Benjamin (Laura) Aguayo and sister-in-law Minerva (Inocente) Munoz Aguayo.-He was a proud uncle to numerous nephews and nieces:-Jazbel, Israel Isai, Melissa Elizabeth, Benjamin Guillermo, Clarissa Lynn, Frank Anthony,-Richard Louis, Nicole Alejandra,-Andrew Lance,-Maegan Mia, and Dana Carolina.
David had a passion for sports, especially for the game of basketball and to see his sons come to love the sport as well.- He attended St. Peters, St. Joseph's Academy, and J.W. Nixon High School in Laredo.-He received his degree in Physical Education from McMurry University at Abilene, Texas.- He taught for 28 years and coached at Lamar MS , Cigarroa MS, Cigarroa HS, and Christen MS.- He was most proud of his involvement with girls' track, volleyball and basketball programs and especially of the achievement of his "underdog" teams who had winning seasons because of their dedication and determination to do their best.-
David coached and played in the Men's Basketball City League and he cherished the time spent with Men's Christian Fellowship group at United Baptist Church.-
The family wishes to thank all those who helped with David Idrogo's medical care during his illness while at Doctor's Hospital, Specialty Hospital, Stone Oak Methodist Hospital, and Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio.-May God bless you all and continue giving you the wisdom, kindness and compassion he received under your care.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. in the North Joe Jackson Chapel,- 1410 Jacaman Rd. Officiated by Pastor Mike Barrera.-
Graveside service is pending at this time.
