Cruz Rafael Martinez, 88, entered this world on September 14, 1927 in Cotulla, Texas and closed his eyes on September 13, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones by his side.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Manuela Q. Martinez.

They were blessed with two daughters who survive him: Lupita (Rick Hernandez) Preciado-Hernandez, Leticia ( J. Miranda) Martinez; grandchildren, Jackie (Ricky Ercia) Martinez, John (Melissa Moreno) Preciado Jr., George Preciado, James (Amy Garza) Preciado; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, other loved relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday the 17th of September 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Prayer service will commence at 7 p.m.

A Chapel service will be held on Sunday, the 18th of September 2016 at 9 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd.

Interment with Military Honors will then follow to the Laredo City Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by U.S. Army National Honor Guard and American Post Legion 59.
