CARMEN GUERRA

Carmen Guerra, 94, passed away on April 20, 2016 at her home. She was born August 06, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas; and had been a resident of Laredo since the year 1950.

Mrs. Guerra was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Zahara Caravan No. 64 Order of the Alhambra.

Mrs. Guerra was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, Francisco Guerra; her parents, Heleodoro and Paula Campos Garza; her brothers, Efrain Garza, Benjamin Garza, Humberto Garza; her sisters, Norma Garza, and Esperanza Lerma.

She is survived by her children, Lucia G. (Gopal) Talreja of Plano, TX., Francisco (Oma) Guerra, Jr., Louie P. (Baby O.) Guerra, both of Laredo, TX., Graciela G. (Ignacio) Torres, Ricardo (Carol) Guerra, both of San Antonio, TX., and Cecilia G. (Eriberto) Elizondo of Laredo, TX.; grandchildren, Francisco Guerra III, Louie T. (Ethel Arguindegui) Guerra, Neal (Anu) Talreja, Shawn (Audrea) Talreja, Valene Torres, Ignacio (Hazel) Torres III, Eriberto Elizondo, Jr., and Esteban Elizondo; six great-grandchildren, Theresa R., Gianna L., Lila M., Avila G., Jude G., and Levi M. Talreja. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and friends.

A special recognition to her dear friends, Rosa Elia Ruvalcaba, Monica Puga, Nydia Sandoval, and Eva Muoz; also to Dr. Carlos Hornedo, Griselda Vasquez and staff from Merida Hospice, amongst all others who cared for our mother.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Holy mass at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is encouraged to meet at church.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
