CARLOS CARDENAS MEZA

MAY 7, 1942 – JANUARY 13, 2020

Mr. Carlos C. Meza, 77, entered into the eternal kingdom of Heaven to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 13, 2020.  Mr. Meza was a Retired Member of the Laredo Police Department with a rank of Sergeant Badge 288.  Carlos served his country proudly in the United States Army before joining the Laredo Police Department and the US Federal Court Security team in Laredo. He served in the Vietnam War Conflict.  He was a humble, generous, loving and wonderful role model and community member.

He is preceded in death by his parents:  Eudoro Sr. and Gregoria C. Meza; siblings: Albert Meza, Hector Meza, Raul Meza.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his siblings:  Eudoro Meza Jr. (Gloria), Sara Meza Nichols (Steve); his nephew Raul Gerardo Meza (Allison), as well as by an extended number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and many friends, which include his members with the Veteran’s coalition and different organizations that he belonged too, especially, the American Legion Post 59.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 6 until 10 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., with a Rosary being held at 7:30 p.m.

A Prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 with procession departing the chapel at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 to the Veteran’s Section of the Laredo City Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 10:30 a.m.

Military Honors will be rendered by the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 59.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to:  Laredo Cancer Society, American Legion Post 59 Scholarship, Laredo Pillar Mental Health and Substance Abuse.
