Brenda Barrera

Brenda Marina Barrera, 30, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 04, 2018.

Brenda was an amazing person who loved God, her family, her friends, music, singing, and exploring new places. Although she was an adventurous person, she was a true homebody who had a soft spot for her beloved pet Monita, and was very fond of weekend carne asadas. She greatly impacted her community of family and friends. She was a psychologist and helped countless people with her advice and professionalism. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas A&M. She was an exemplary woman who was tremendously joyful, and who gave off a light of brilliance wherever she went.

She will always be remembered and cherished by her mother and best friend, Marina González; her brothers, Gerardo H. (Victoria) Barrera Jr. and Carlos González; her father, Daniel González; her nephews, Gerardo Barrera III and Samuel Isaías Barrera; as well as numerous other loved relatives and friends. Brenda, we thank you for the happiness you gave us in your 30 years of life, we will see you soon in heaven, our precious and beautiful Shorty!

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, September 06, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Road; where a Prayer Service will commence at 7:30 p.m.

A Chapel Service will be held on Friday morning, September 07, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels.

Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
