BOBBY DARRYL WYSONG
February 12, 1967 – November 5, 2023
Bobby Darryl Wysong passed away by the side of his beloved wife Cristina Melinda Lopez-Wysong on November 5th, 2023. Bobby was born the youngest child of Wallace William Wysong, and Precious Lee King Wysong on February 12th, 1967 in Edna Texas. Bobby was known for his avid love of sports. In particular, The Dallas Cowboys football team. Bobby always represented his dedication to his favorite team by wearing jerseys and other sports memorabilia. He shared his love of sports with our community by serving as a softball and football coach to Laredo’s youth. Bobby loved to watch and discuss sports, especially with his son Christoper Wysong. In addition, Bobby enjoyed cooking and baking for his loved ones, and was most well-known for his “Big Daddy’s Wing Shack” and his famous catchphrase “So delicious, they’ll make you slap your mama!”. Bobby had a vibrant personality and was happy to support anyone in need. He met his wife in June of 2007 and they bonded over their love of music, movies, and food. On November 11, 2022, Cristina and Bobby eloped in a romantic Las Vegas Chapel surrounded by family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Precious Wysong, and siblings Karalyn B. Wysong, and Wilmot J. Wysong.
He is survived by his loving wife Cristina Melinda Lopez-Wysong, son Christopher “Amanda” Wysong, daughter, Karalyn K. Wysong, granddaughters Shayleigh and Axara Wysong, sisters Priscilla Gildon, Gencia Wysong, and Kay (James) Lockhart, brother Wallace Wysong. Father and mother-in-law, Cecilia and Catarino Lopez, sister-in-law, Cecilia (Jesus) Ramirez, and brothers-in-law, Catarino (Marissa) Lopez, Carlos (Jessica) Lopez.
And uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, November 9, 2023 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, November 10, 2023 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
