BLAS ALONZO GIBLER-RUIZ

Blas Alonzo Gibler-Ruiz graduated from life at the age of 94, in Laredo Texas, on April 11, 2016. Born in Houston, Texas on March 14, 1922, "To Blas", as he was affectionately known, was the epitome of "El Caballero de la Fina Estampa". In 1941, he joined the Naval Reserve and enlisted in the US Maritime Services, attended Officer's School and graduated as a Lieutenant J.G. He served during WWII, and was honorably discharged in 1947.
Rotarian for many years, (he began giving conferences to Rotary Clubs in Venezuela in 1957) To Blas was also member of prestigious organizations such as the International Good Neighbor Council, Knights of Columbus, Ejecutivos de Ventas y Mercadotecnia (EVMAC), Unin Social de Empresarios Mexicanos (USEM), Asociacin Mexicana de Distribuidores de Automviles (AMDA), and COPARMEX.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife Lit, his beautiful boy Richard Alexander, son-in-law David Gonzlez, great-granddaughter Carolina, parents Frank and Conchita, and siblings Frank, Deborah, Dorothy, Gordon, Consuelo and Tlazalteotlzin.
To Blas is survived by his brothers and sisters Marta, Eduardo, Xchitl, Mary Jane and Michael; sons, Blas (Raquel), Nicholas (Kathy), José Lynn, (Georgina) Francis Xavier, and Gilberto Andrew (Irma) and daughter Margarita; grandchildren Richard, Carlos, Genevieve, Mara Fernanda, Amanda, Patricio, Michelle, Alyne, Susie, Jonathan Blas, Nicholas, and Emiliano; great grandchildren, Manuel, Juan Carlos, Amairan, Ricky, Mariana, Mara José, Gael, Isabel, and Andrea, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His walk through earthly life has now come to its close, but his legacy lives on forever in the hearts and minds of his children, his children's children, and each of us whose lives he touched so dearly.
In lieu of flowers, you may choose to donate to any of his favorite causes: The Laredo Rotary Club, Blessed Sacrament Parish, KHOY, and/or Knights of Columbus.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, April 15, 2016 departing at 10 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
