Bertha Sanchez

Bertha Sanchez, 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Most people can't say they lived two lives in a single lifetime; or that they loved enough for two people, but she did. Bertha Sanchez played the role of both mother and father to her two wonderful children, Faviola Deborah(David) Gardner and Ozzie Dale (Elena Angelica) Jimerson and nurtured and provided them with the strength and passion of two. Her family may have started small, but has expanded with her grandchildren: Yvette O'Reilly, Vanessa Valadez, Michael Valadez, Lauren Ashley Gardner, Jose Antonio Jimerson, Ozzie D. Jimerson III, April Jimerson, Kelsey Ann Jimerson, as well as her great grandchildren: Miles and Roman, Olivia, Karolyn, Melany, and Markus who cherished the short time they had with their great grandma Bibi. Though not of great stature physically, Bertha was a strong woman who fought to keep our families close and guided us towards success through constant love and lectures. We thank God she has been reunited with her dear daughter Debbie and we pray for their eternal rest in peace in heaven. We love you and will miss you Grandma Bibi. Visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to Mother Cabrini Catholic Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
