Bertha Sanchez

Bertha R. Sanchez, 85, went home to our Lord and the loving arms of her beloved husband, Armando Sanchez on July 15, 2015 after a long and courageous life where she overcame many health challenges to enjoy time spent with her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She most enjoyed the time she spent with her granddaughter. Bertha loved being an educator and spent a long career as a teacher with the Laredo Independent School District where she spent the majority of her career as a 4th grade teacher at Ryan Elementary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armando R. Sanchez; and her parents Federico and Amparo Reyna. She was happiest with her husband, "Sandy", as she rarely left his side and could be seen always together walking hand in hand. They are now together once again hand in hand for eternity. Bertha is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Y. Sanchez; her sister, Esther (Ambrose) Boubel; her brother, Fred (Raquel) Reyna, brother in law, Santiago "James" (Meg) Sanchez, grandchildren, Brian (Tina) Gutierrez, Kevin M. Gutierrez, and Kelsey (Eric) Villescas. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Charlee Gutierrez, Kennedy Gutierrez, Emma Nicole Villescas, and Preston Alexander Villescas; as well as her nieces and nephews. Her life will be remembered on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd. Visitation will commence from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Followed by a short service and interment at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
