Berta R. Salinas Lopez

Berta R. Salinas Lopez was called home to our Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at NIX Hospital (E.R) in San Antonio, Texas with her family by her side.

She was born on January 5, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Felix Dominguez and Leonor Guevara.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roque Salinas; her son Rodolfo Salinas; her daughter Sara Elizabeth Salinas; her parents, Leonor Guevara and Felix Dominguez; in-laws, Gabriel and Petra Salinas; and her sister Luz Guevara.

Berta is survived by her children, Roque Salinas, Jr. of Laredo, Texas, Maria Teresa (Jesus) Estrada of Deckerville, Michigan, Bertha (Jesus) “Chicky” Serna of San Antonio, Texas, and Javier Salinas of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and many, many friends.

Berta was a wonderful daughter, daughter-in-law, a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a fabulous grandmother of 19 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

She will be truly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

On behalf of Berta’s family we would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Raul Gaona, Jr. and Staff, Dr. Damaso Oliva, Jr. and Staff, Girling Home Health Care, All of NIX Hospital ER Staff (Downtown) working on March 10, 2019, mid-afternoon; especially Dr. Jessica Lopez.

Family friends, and others whose lives Berta touched are invited to celebrate her life at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring Ave., Laredo, Texas 78043, on Friday, March 15, 2019 where visitation will be held from 4 to 9 in the evening, and a Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 16, 2019. Mass will be held at 12 Noon at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1105 Tilden Ave., Laredo, Texas 78040

Rite of Committal and Interment will be held after the mass via procession to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Diana Serna, Graciela Morton, Jesus Estrada, Jr., Jesus Serna, Jr., Armando Serna, Erik Estrada, and Andrew Estrada.
