Beatriz Villarreal
January 19, 1933 – December 06, 2020
Beatriz Villarreal, 87, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Sunday, December 6, 2020.
She was born in Laredo, Texas where shew grew up and lived her whole life. As a young woman she worked for Kress store, where she would model dresses. When she wasn’t modeling dresses, she would work in retail. In that store she met the love of her life, our father. They were married on April 24, 1954 until his death in 1997. Throughout her life she was known as the one to go to for shelter and food. She always helped out the people from her neighborhood and if anyone needed a place to stay, her house was always open to anyone in need of assistance. Whenever she wasn’t there, she enjoyed spending time with my father and would always go out of town and visit their favorite places.
Our mom loved gardening. She had many types of plants and flowers that she planted and liked, and her grandson James had the same interests as her. Throughout her life, she was affectionately known as “Biaché” or “Grandma” to most of the kids from the neighborhood. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her grandchildren and making them their favorite food, homemade flour tortillas. During the holidays, she would make “tamales”, “ojarascas”, and “buñuelos” which they enjoyed very much and always looked forward to.
Earth lost an angel but heaven gained one.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Candido and Agripina Castillo; her beloved husband Simon Villarreal, and her daughter Nora (Jesus Maria) Villarreal.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, San Juanita (Daniel) Sanchez. Jr., Arturo (Judith) Villarreal; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, James, Carlos, Rebecca, Stephanie, Joseph, Joshua, and Emily Villarreal, and Ruben, Melissa Lecea, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
