Aurora Cavazos

Mrs. Aurora G. Cavazos entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 09, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. "Aurorita" as she was lovingly called was born in Ciudad Guerrero, Tamaulipas on July 11, 1912. She was a wonderful historian and remembered Old Guerrero with great fondness. She came to Laredo with her parents at the age of 17 and soon married the boy from across the street. Together they raised their children modestly but with lots of love and tenderness. She was an extraordinary mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who created wonderful memories by her traditions especially around Christmas. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alejandro Cavazos, Sr. in 1973, her eldest son, Alejandro Cavazos, Jr. who passed away in July of this year and her second son who died as an infant, Eduardo Hector Cavazos. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Jose Demetrio Garca and Otila Garca Saenz; siblings, Angelina (Gonzalo ") Botello, Hortencia (Adan ") Salinas and Juan Jose (Hortencia) Garca.

She is survived by her beloved children, Ricardo (Mara Elena) Cavazos, Bertha (Alberto) Arizola and David Sergio (Raquel) Cavazos; daughter-in-law, Alicia (Alejandro ") Cavazos, Jr.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother Hector (Ernestina ") Garca from San Antonio, Texas.

The family wishes to thank all the exceptional nurses from Champion Home Health, especially her providers, Lydia Gonzalez and Mara Guadalupe Reyna; as well as her most recent nurses from Altus Hospice, Jose Alvarado and Jorge Madrigal. A very special thanks to her grandson, Alberto Arizola, RN for always being there for his grandma.
