Arturo Gonzalez

Arturo Ivan Gonzalez, age 84, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 19, 2018, surrounded by family.

Mr. Gonzalez was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born in Laredo, Texas, and had been a life-long resident. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated A & I University in Kingsville with a master’s degree and taught at Lamar Middle School for 32 years. After retiring in 1997, he continued to work until 2017 at Leticia G. Gonzalez, Inc., licensed U.S. customs broker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Benigna Gonzalez, and siblings, Maria Ester Gonzalez, Enrique (Rosario) Gonzalez, and Imelda (Roberto) Ramirez. He was survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Leticia G. Gonzalez, and his six children, Diana (Robert) Zuazua, Arturo Ivan Gonzalez Jr., Sandy (David) Cruz, Oscar (Jaimie) Gonzalez, Victor (Ciara) Gonzalez, and Dora (Matthew) Passmore. He was also survived by his 12 grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, and Michael Zuazua; Arturo and Andy Gonzalez; David, Marissa, and Brianna Cruz; Eva and Aubrey Gonzalez; Jacob and James Gonzalez, and four great-grandchildren, Arturo, Aaron, Sophia, and Antonio Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, January 25, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez, Laredo, Texas 78041; where a Vigil for the Deceased & Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, January 26, 2018 departing at 11:00 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal & Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
