Armando Moncivais, a beloved husband, dedicated counselor, and esteemed member of the Laredo community, passed away on January 1, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on January 15, 1946, in his beloved hometown of Laredo, Texas, Armando lived a life filled with love, service, and unwavering commitment.
Armando was a man of many accomplishments and contributions. Graduating with a Master's Degree, he passionately pursued his career as a counselor, empathetically guiding and supporting countless individuals in their personal journeys. For an impressive 38 years, he selflessly served as a counselor at LISD, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of his students, colleagues, and the entire school community.
Armando's dedication extended beyond the walls of the school. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force, instilling in him a sense of duty and a strong work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. Beyond his professional achievements, Armando was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Alicia Moncivais, for an incredible 50 years. Their unbreakable bond was a testament to their shared values and unwavering commitment to one another. Their love served as an inspiration not only to their family but to all who had the privilege of knowing them.
Armando's influence extended even further, as he actively participated in various organizations, including the Special Border Olympics, Laredo Crime Stoppers, and LULAC 12. These associations allowed him to foster connections, lend a helping hand, and positively impact the wider community he held dear.
In his leisure time, Armando found solace on the golf course, relishing the opportunity to challenge himself and enjoy the company of friends. He also cherished the tranquility found at his beloved ranch, a place where he could immerse himself in nature and recharge his spirit.
Armando Moncivais will be remembered not only for his achievements but also for his compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others. His reverential presence, his compassionate heart, and his celebratory spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
