I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Armandina C. Velasquez, 71, passed into God’s loving arms on Saturday, October 07, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend with a generous heart. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jesus Velasquez; mother, Maria G. (Jorge) Verino; and father, Raul Chavez.

Armandina is survived by her loving husband, Guadalupe Velasquez; children, Maria I. Velasquez, David (Grey) Velasquez, Jose (Roxana) Velasquez, Leticia (Hector) Tijerina, Antonio Velasquez; grandchildren, Hector D. Tijerina Jr., Brianna N. Tijerina, Jesus B. Velasquez, Jessica Velasquez, David Velasquez Jr., Daniel Velasquez, Roberto Velasquez, Zulyn C. Velasquez, Grey Paola Velasquez; sisters, Maria L. Aguilera, Aurora (Genaro) Fuentes; brothers, Cesar Chavez, Javier (Francisca) Chavez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, loved family members, and friends.

The family will gather to receive condolences on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Prayer service will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. to Christ Worship Center for a funeral service at 10 a.m.

Interment will then follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
