ARABELLA CHAVEZ HEIN
October 23, 1943 – MAY 03, 2020
Arabella “Bee” Chavez Hein entered eternal rest on May 3, 2020.
Bee, as she was affectionately called by all who knew and loved her, was the last of her family’s generation. She was preceded in death by her parents Roldan Chavez, Sr. and Amelia L. Chavez, aunts Eva and Amelia Chavez, her beloved siblings Roldan Chavez, Jr. and Graciela (Nina) Ramirez, and her son Fred Gus Hein.
Ms. Hein is survived by her daughters, Arabella “Adee” Delgado (Ramón) and Shelley S. Merino (Gastón), and by her son Gus Fred Hein III.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Alexandra A. Delgado-Garcia (Gustavo), Amanda Veronica Delgado, Daniel F. Merino (Mallory Kae), Melissa Arabella Salazar (Vic), Amanda Patricia Merino (Dylan), and great-grandchildren: Catalina, Lianna, Bridget, Marley, Ashlyn, Daniel, Jonathan, Crystal, Sofia. Nieces: Cynthia M. Ramirez (Mary Gloria), Sandee Rogers (Mike), Selina Chavez-Treviño (Kiko), Nephews: RC Chavez (Meredith) and Rene Rubio, and grand-nephews and nieces: Braden Sanchez, David Hance IV, Ryan Ramirez, Mackenna and Brianna Chavez, and brother-in law Rafael Ramirez and sister-in-law Noni Chavez.
Bee was a proud graduate of Ursuline Academy. After she married, she lived in Aguascalientes, Ags. Mexico, for more than 9 years. She then returned to Laredo and followed up with a successful career in management and settled into family life back in her hometown.
She was a devout Catholic, and a praiseworthy charitable soul. Her pride and joy was always her family, including her spoiled fur babies, Blackjack and Mikee. She enjoyed grilling, cooking, loved gardening, and baking her famous Pineapple Upside Down Cake. She was “feared” by all (and proud of it) for her spirited ways, a real “spitfire” for such a small frame.
To honor her wishes, a private family viewing was held at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd. on May 9, 2020.
A Mass of Resurrection at Christ the King Catholic Church will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.
