Mr. Antonio Peña, 82, was called to eternal rest on Monday, January 22, 2018. Mr. Peña was born in Laredo, Texas on June 9, 1935.
Mr. Antonio Peña was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto Peña and Maria Guajardo Peña.
Mr. Peña lived a life of fulfillment and of service. He proudly served his country in the Korean/Vietnam Wars and traveled all over the world. Mr. Peña then retired as a T/SGT with 23 years of service in the United States Air Force as a Load Master C-5-A Galaxy. He then moved to Dallas, Texas and proceeded with a career with the US Postal Service; where he then retired 30 years later.
Mr. Peña gladly and proudly served our Government for over 53 years.
He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Maria Lamar Peña.
He is survived by his 7 children: Norma Peña Rios, Antonio Alberto Peña, Ruben Peña, Araceli Peña, Ivonne Peña, Rebecca Peña, and David Armando Peña as well as by their spouses. He is also loved and is survived by his brothers and sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday morning, January 29, 2018 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez, Laredo, Texas 78041; where a Prayer Service will commence at 11 a.m.
Rite of Committal & Interment will follow at the Veteran’s Section of the Laredo City Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
