Antonia Orfila Ibarra, 70, a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into eternal rest, peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.

Antonia, also known as Toni to her friends and family was born and raised in Laredo Texas.-She graduated from Texas Women's University and was an elementary school teacher with Laredo Independent School District for 30 years.-She taught at Farias Elementary School for most of her career.-Antonia loved to take family trips, especially to California to visit her husband's family.-She was considered the historian of the family, and was especially proud of her work on the family tree.

Antonia was preceded in death by her parents, James J. and Estela G. Orfila.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years Gabriel Ibarra, Jr., son Gabriel (Yanira) Ibarra III, daughter Stella Ibarra, grandchildren Gabriel, Desirae, Devin Ibarra, Kadence Villarreal, and Jaden Hernandez, sisters Alicia (Peter) Farias, Angela (Mario) Casares, Estela (Juan M. ") Guerra, brothers James (Alicia) Orfila, and John (Laura) Orfila.-Antonia will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Road from 5 to 9 in the evening.-A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.-Cortege will depart at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels.

Interment will follow at Veteran's Section in the City Cemetery.
