MISS ANNA CLAUDIA BENAVIDES

August 29, 1953 - February 15, 2016

Miss Anna Claudia Benavides, 62, entered into her eternal home in heaven on Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born on August 29, 1953 to Mr. Guillermo Benavides and Mrs. Norma Z. Benavides.

Anna Claudia lived a long life even though she was surrounded with many difficulties health wise throughout her life. In her earlier years, she was a talented and avid dancer, who liked to go horseback riding at the family ranch. One of her passions was her weekly outings to shop at the mall. She was an overall caring, loving, happy, and humble woman who was loved and cherished by her family.

She is preceded in death by her father: Guillermo Benavides Garza.

She is survived by her loving mother: Mrs. Norma Z. Benavides; brothers and sisters: Norma B. Hunt, Guillermo Benavides Z. (Sonia), Manuel "Gero" Benavides (Elizabeth) as well as by her longtime caregiver and friend whom she treated as family: Mrs. Isabel Rodriguez and numerous nieces, nephews, other beloved relatives and friends.

A Rosary will be offered for the repose of her soul this morning, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. Visitation will be at 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral cortege will depart at 9:15 a.m. to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Felipe de Jesus Barba, SDB.

Pallbearers will be: Hector Zuniga, Sr., Eduardo "Lalo" Zuniga, Jose A. Alvarez, Rafael Morales, Alfredo Rios, and Carlos de Lachica.

Honorary pallbearer will be: Dr. Joaquin G. Cigarroa.

The Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
