Anita G. Rodriguez, 72, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Anita Garza Rodriguez, was a devoted and inspiring Catholic. Anita was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, having served the Lord as a Catechist, Altar Society Member, Vela Perpetua, as well as other parish duties and activities. It is through her faith that we are united in this time of pain and sorrow. Her devotion to Mary and Jesus brings us that peace that we have returned her soul to God, the giver of life. In the words of Matthew: "Blessed are they who have died in the Lord; may they now rest from their labors; for their good deeds go with them." May you rest in peace in the company of all the angels and saints, where you now guide us in the path of Christ. Anita is preceded in death by her parents: Pedro and Anita Garza, Sr. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 52 years of marriage: Armando M. Rodriguez, Sr.; children: Sandra Rodriguez, Alicia (Gerardo Jesus) Ydrogo, Alma R. (Teodoro Homero) Olivarez, Armando (Yolanda M.) Rodriguez, Jr.; grandchildren: Leslie Denise Ydrogo, Stacey Lynn Ydrogo, Gerardo Jesus Ydrogo, Jr., Justin Andrew Ydrogo, Homero Teodoro Olivarez, Armando Rodriguez III; her godson: Ruben Vicente Garza; brothers and sisters: Hortencia (Felipe III) Ramirez, Pedro Garza, Jr. (Mary Ellen), Lucila (Alejandro) Castillo, Sr., Elsa (Armando, Sr.) Villalon, Martin (Norma) Garza, and Sylvia (Juan J.) Cobos, Sr. She is also survived by her in-laws, aunts, uncles, and other loving relatives and friends. Special thanks to her brothers, sisters, in-laws, as well as the community of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Women's Acts for their prayers during her time of trials and tribulation. Visitation will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring and Cortez from 4 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 departing the funeral home at 8:40 a.m. to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
