Angel Abigael Cervantes, 39, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Angel was born in Chicago, IL, raised in Houston, TX, and lived a very happy life in Laredo, TX, surrounded by numerous loved family members and friends. He was the most determined, ambitious man you could ever meet. He could set his eyes to anything and achieve it. He always knew that he was meant for big things, and without ever realizing it he touched so many people with his sarcasm and devilish grin. He will be missed and loved beyond anything he ever thought was possible. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Josefina Rubalcaba. Angel is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Cynthia M. Cervantes; his princess, Samantha E. Cervantes; his son, Angel A. Cervantes Jr.; parents, Abigael (Blanca) Cervantes and Elda Gongora; brothers, Joel Quiroga Jr., Homero Quiroga, Jose Cervantes; sisters, Blanca Teresa Cervantes, Maria Magali (Matthew) Whiting; parents in law, Julian and Deborah Lugo Martinez Jr., siblings in law, Gloria H. Diaz, Julio Julian Martinez, Esmeralda (Stephen) Medellin, Julian Martinez III, Franco (Elizabeth) Martinez, and Daniella Martinez. He is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and many friends. The family will be receiving guests the evening of Thursday, the 5th of February 2015 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., from 5 until 9 in the evening. A Vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 o'clock. Funeral procession will depart the chapel at 8 in the morning on Friday, the 6th of February 2015 to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 in the morning. Interment will then follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Franco Martinez, Julian Martinez III, Braulio Rodrigo Lugo, Jesse Castillo, Armando Castillo, Javier Rodriguez, Luis Alberto Rubalcaba, Roy Rodriguez, and David Leija. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Jose Cervantes.
