ANDRES CORTEZ JR. February 04, 1946 - February 26, 2014 Mr. Andres Cortez Jr., 68, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family. We treasure the memories we have of him and will never forget all the things he taught us. We are grateful that he is at peace now. We will truly miss him and his big heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Maria Cortez Sr.; his granddaughter, Natalie Jean Charles; and his brother, Antonio Cortez. Andres is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Josefina Cortez; his daughters, Rosa Maria Cortez, Josefina (Narciso) Charles IV; grandson, Nicholas Andrew Charles; siblings, Soledad (Sergio) Garcia, Jose Luis (Manuela) Cortez, Raul (Maria) Cortez, Guillermo (Velia) Cortez, Guadalupe Cortez, Alberto Cortez, Roselena (Juan) Martinez, Irma (Jesse) Martinez, Reynaldo Cortez, Jesse Cortez; brothers in law, Manuel (Socorro) Valdez, Reynaldo (Guadalupe) Valdez; sisters in law, Maria Sanchez, Yolanda Carlo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 02, 2014 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Vigil for the Deceased will commence at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, March 03, 2014 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Devine Mercy Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
