AMERICA RENDON DE RIZO
August 4, 1942 – October 24, 2024
“She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is everyone that retaineth her.” Proverbs 3:18
It is with great sadness that the family of America Rendon de Rizo announce her passing on October 24, 2024. With the same intensity, we celebrate her life as our rock, our connection, our everything. America, proudly from Cerralvo, Nuevo León, Mexico, passed at the age of 82 after a long fought, miracle battle.
Surrounded by her family, she began her journey home where she was surely met with great excitement and love by her sister (Hilda Rendon), her mother (Maria-Ana Quintanilla), and her father (Cayetano Rendon).
America’s good humor and generous spirit defined her. Her quick wit was always a joy to witness. She loved nothing more than being with her family, gathered around a table, enjoying a delicious meal. The last one to sit down, her passion was making sure everyone was taken care of.
America is survived by her husband of 66 years Roberto Rizo, her seven children Blanca (Ricardo) Gutierrez, Leticia ( Hon. Judge C.Y. †) Benavides Jr., Patricia Rizo, Jesus Rizo, Sylvia (Roger) Perales, Betty (Marcos) Molina, and Ricardo (Olga) Rizo, 15 grandchildren Ruby Rizo, Bobby Palacios, Angelique Gutierrez, Ricky Gutierrez, Ernie (Mar) Benavides, Eric Benavidez, Star (Gustavo) Arizola, Moonique Benavidez, Reyna Rizo, Jesus Rizo Jr., Vanessa Rizo, C.J. (Jesenia) Rodriguez, George (Lizette) Rizo, Rochelle (Roberto) Diaz, Ricco Rizo, 15 great-grandchildren, her niece Rosenda (Steve) Edgar, her brother Jose Rendon Quintanilla, and her nephews Omar (Carla) Rendon and Ivan (Cynthia) Rendon.
