ALMA H. VELA APRIL 14, 1930 - DECEMBER 1, 2014 Alma H. Vela, 84, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 1, 2014. Alma H. Vela is preceded in death by her husband: Julian Vela, Jr.; sister: Lucy (Henry) Munoz; and brother-in-law: Rene Menchaca. She is survived by her son: Julian (Evangelina R.) Vela, III; grandchildren: Julian Thomas Vela, David Vela; brothers and sisters: Consuelo (Guillermo) Gallegos, Jose Luis Hinojosa, Josie "Bebe" Menchaca, Elva (Gordon) Orand, and Nora (Thomas) Dubose. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 8 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 6 in the evening. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 departing the funeral home at 10:15 am to St. Joseph Catholic Church for A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
