Alma Mata, 61, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother to her beloved family. Her contagious smile glowed everywhere she went; she always lent a helping hand to all in need. She had a heart of gold which made her family to many, including her work colleagues. Alma was a hard-working woman; she devoted her talents to Walmart for 38 year and arose to manager. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rodolfo Cruz Mata, mother-in-law, Maria Concepcion Guerra, grandmother, Carlota Gonzalez and siblings; Rodolfo Mata, Jr and Yolanda Mata.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Jose Agustin Lopez, their children; Priscilla (Jorge Gaytan) Alma Lopez, Jennifer Denise (Oscar Flores III) Lopez and their adored grandchildren; Haley Nicole Gaytan, Jorge Alberto Gaytan, Jr., Addilynn Gaytan, Oscar Flores IV, and Eliana Anahi Flores. In addition, her mother Hortencia Gonzalez Mata, siblings; Pablo (Maria) Mata, Beatriz (Jose) Martinez, Herlinda Rodriguez, Jaime (Romelia) Mata, Mario Mata, sister-in-law Maria Concepcion (Juan, Jr) Garza, father-in-law Jorge Pedro Guerra Sr. and numerous, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, February 2, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning, February 3, 2021 departing at 7:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jose Agustin Lopez, Jorge Alberto Gaytan, Jr., Jorge Alberto Gaytan, Oscar Flores III, Pablo Mata, Ignacio Martinez, Jr., Jose Juan Martinez and Juan Ricardo Garza III.
