NOVEMBER 29, 1926 - FEBRUARY 08, 2016

Miss Alicia Cavazos, 89, entered the eternal gates of heaven on February 8, 2016.

Miss Cavazos was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. During her lifetime, she was an employee at J.C. Penny, Sears, Garcia Pharmacy and at Carmin's Flower and Gift Shop. She was a very noble, unselfish, and loving person who dedicated her life to serving others and caring for loved ones. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph's Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerardo and Luisa B. Cavazos, her brother, Rodolfo Cavazos, and her loving sisters, Maria Elena Cavazos and Berta C. Gonzalez.

She is survived by her brother, Gerardo (Cynthia) Cavazos, her brother in law, Abran Gonzalez, and her eight nephews and nieces who thought the world of her. Rodolfo B. (Shari) Gonzalez, Abran Gonzalez Jr. David R. Gonzalez, Alicia (Juan) Madrigal, Norma H. Gonzalez, Emmanuel J. (Claudia) Gonzalez and Peter A. (Hannah) Moreno and Tommy Moreno.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Melchor Cardenas, Dr. Cesar Tula, Dr. Fernando L. Sanchez, Healing Hands Home Health, and most especially to Rosie Smith for their assistance in the care of Miss Cavazos during her illness. May God bless all.

Her family will receive condolences the evening of Thursday, the 11th of February 2016 from 5 to 9 in the evening at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered for the repose of her soul at 7.

Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel the following morning of Friday, the 12th of February at 8:45 am to St. Joseph's Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9am.

The Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
