Alicia Cardenas

Alicia Cardenas, age 86, entered into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father on April 22, 2011.-

Born in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, on March 18, 1925, she spent her early years in various parts of northern Mexico before marrying at age sixteen and moving to the United States.-As a young wife, she lived and worked throughout the country, but eventually established residence in Laredo, where she always set a good example of hard work and honest living for her family.-Those who had the privilege of knowing her will never forget her kind and loving nature.-

She was preceded in death by four half-siblings; her parents Feliciano and Antonia Escamilla Cardenas; her husband Andres Cardenas; and two infant sons, Andres and Raul Cardenas.

Alicia leaves to cherish her memory three children, Beatriz (Roberto) Rocha, Gilberto Cardenas, and San Juanita (Juan Jose) Ramirez; two sisters, Amalia Martinez and Margarita Santos, both of Sabinas Hidalgo; two brothers, Fernando Cardenas of Sabinas Hidalgo and Enrique Cardenas of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.-
