ALICIA B. SEGOVIA

November 17, 1936 - February 24, 2023

Alicia B. Segovia, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the age of 86.

Alicia worked as an Educator for LISD instructing young minds for numerous years. Since her youth, she had a passion for academic endeavors and would read anything she could get her hands on; a practice that followed her all throughout her life. She enjoyed reading her favorite books and favorite magazines, Reader’s Digest and Good Housekeeping. In her leisure, Alicia loved watching household favorites, Little House on the Prairie and the Andy Griffith Show; often while enjoying a slice of her favorite desserts, pumpkin pie or chocolate cake from Holloway’s Bakery. Her radiant smile and warmth will be missed by those who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in passing by: her beloved husband, Humberto G. Segovia; her parents, Antonia and Pedro Bustamante; her sisters, Amelda Ramirez, Ninfa Hernandez, Julia Barrera, and Elva Santos; and her brother, Pedro Bustamante, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are: her loving children, Mario Segovia, Magda (Francisco) Quintana, and Marco (Amanda) Segovia; her grandchildren, Michael Segovia, Lauren Gammel, Branden Quintana, Kassandra Quintana, Andrew Segovia, Matthew Segovia, Isabella Segovia, Catherine Segovia, and Victoria Segovia; and her great-grandchildren, Ruben J. Barrios, Jiren Barrios, Adriell Barrios, and Lyla R. Barrios; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, March 2, 2023 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m. followed by a Eulogy led by Magda A. Quintana.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, March 3, 2023 procession will depart at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Francisco Quintana, Mario Segovia, Branden Quintana, Michael Segovia, Marco Segovia, and Pedro Bustamante, Jr.
