Alejandro F. Castillo (Alex), 73, passed away in his beloved home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
Alejandro was a genera contractor (master carpenter) for 45 years. He enjoyed the outdoor life; hunting and fishing. After he retired, he enjoyed helping relatives and friends with household projects as that was his passion. He also enjoyed watching television shows like, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and WWE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Paula Castillo, his sister Vicky Vedia, granddaughters, Liza and Amanda Castillo, and his in-laws, Pedro and Anita R. Garza.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Lucila G. Castillo of 55 years, his loving children, Alex (Becky) Castillo, Jr., Raul (Melissa) Castillo, Maribel (Frank) Castillo, Cordy (Jair) Castillo, his brother Alberto (Juanita+) Castillo, his sisters, Gloria Castillo Hinojosa, Lucia (Rick) Rodriguez, Magdalena (Trinidad) Gonzalez, Francisca (Victor) Reyes, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-granddaughters, and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12,2020 departing at 8:45 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of
Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m.
Pallbearers will be: Raul Castillo, Jr., Roel Castillo, Anthony Martinez, Mark Cobos, Orlando Martinez, Richard Martinez, Jr., Ramiro Castillo, Raymond Castillo, and Rogelio Castillo.
Honorary pallbearers are: Alejandro Castillo, Jr., Raul Castillo, Frank Alfaro, Jair Guerrero, and Matthew Sanchez.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to his loving grandson, Orlando Martinez for always being by his side day by day caring and cooking his favorite meals, and to Officer Jorge Iruegas from LPD for being so kind, patient, and understanding during this very difficult time for us.
