ALEJANDRA M. BENAVIDES
NOVEMBER 3, 1922 – NOVEMBER 5, 2019
Mrs. Alejandra M. Benavides, 97, entered into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on November 5, 2019, surrounded by her family at her side. She was a woman of great faith who never lost hope and instilled the Catholic values to each of her children and family. She now rests in the presence of the Almighty after a long and fruitful life and in a place where there is no more pain, no more suffering, but only joy. Rest in Peace.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Leonardo Benavides; daughter: Ninfa Benavides; son: Erasmo Benavides, son-in-law Gary J. Mackey Sr.; siblings: Juan Jose Martinez, Sara Gutierrez, Gregoria Lerma, Simon Martinez, Jose Maria Martinez, Josefa Martinez and Maria del Refugio M. Benavides.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jesus A. (San Juanita) Benavides, Vilma Mackey, Rebecca (Juan) Cabriales, Leonardo Benavides Jr, Bartolome (Graciela) Benavides, Ninfa Teresa (Frank Jr.) Funke, Jose Maria (Patricia) Benavides; daughter in law, Berta Benavides; 38 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren; siblings: Santos (Lupita) Martinez, Luis (Enedina) Martinez; sister in law Berta Martinez, as well as by a great number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will greatly miss her.
A great and gracious thanks to CIMA Hospice Service for their generosity, care and support during her illness.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5 to 10 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 departing at 8:40 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jesus A. Benavides, Leonardo L. Benavides, Bartolome B. Benavides, Jose M. Benavides, Juan M. Cabriales Jr., Gary J. Mackey Jr., Frank C. Funke III, Erasmo J. Benavides.
