ALBERTO "FLACO" GONZALEZ August 12, 1956 - May 22, 2015 Alberto "Flaco" Gonzalez, 58, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Friday, May 22, 2015. "Flaco" as he was affectionately called, was a man of great faith who devoted his life to our Lord and Savior and to his beloved family. He enjoyed participating in his children's' activities and was extremely proud of his son's baseball games. He worked for Frito Lay for over 20 steadfast years, where he made many friends along the way. He was awarded Best Sales Rep. around the region several times. Alberto loved to bowl and was an active member in the bowling community for many years. He will be greatly missed. Alberto was preceded in death by his son, Jose Raul Gonzalez; and parents, Jose and Irma Schunior Gonzalez. He is survived by his beloved wife and eternal companion, Elsa N. Gonzalez; his children whom he adored, Alberto Jr. and Abigail K. Gonzalez; as well as his brother and sister, Jose M. (Elia) Gonzalez and Maria Cristina (Humberto) Gonzalez. He is also survived by his aunts, Raquel Gonzalez, Mercedes (Col. Robert) McPartland, and Adela Schunior (Clemente) Juarez; uncle, Juan Gonzalez; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude for the dedicated care and attention provided to him by The Nurses on Wheels Hospice. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 24, 2015 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Rosary will commence at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday morning, May 25, 2015 departing at 9:45 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
