HORTENCIA L. VILLEGAS
July 03, 1938 - February 28, 2021
Mrs. Hortencia L. Villegas, 82, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven by our Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 28, 2021.
Hortencia was a caring and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family and friends whom she loved unconditionally. She worked as a Bus Aid, alongside her beloved husband, for 10 dedicated years. As a woman of great faith, she wholeheartedly devoted her life to Jesus Christ and His word. She read the Bible daily and was steadfast to concede to the power of prayer. She was an ardent Christian for over 35 years, and was a faithful member of Christ Worship Center for the better part of 27 years.
In her leisure, Hortencia above all else, enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her adored grandchildren; as they were her pride and joy. She was always quick to lend a helping hand and taught her family the importance of serving others, a virtue she led by example. She was the matriarch of the Villegas Family and was and will always be their inspiration in life. Her profound legacy will always be carried on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Antonio and Maria Anita (Martinez) Lopez; beloved husband, Raul Villegas, Sr.; son, Raul Villegas, Jr.; sisters, Guadalupe (Guadalupe) Jaramillo and Josephina Lopez Cruz; and her brother, Antonio Lopez, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are: her daughter, Irma (Eduardo) Butron; sons, Gerardo (Lily) Villegas, Eduardo (San Juanita) Villegas, Javier Villegas, and Samuel (Ana Alicia) Villegas; and daughter-in-law, Maricela R. Villegas. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
